MAPC CEO takes on INA presidency
MAPC President and CEO Ryan Harvey was elected as the president of the Iowa Newspaper Association following the sudden resignation of David Braton, publisher of the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier and Mason City Globe Gazette. Braton recently accepted a job in Bismarck, North Dakota.
Harvey, who was the vice president at the time, was promoted to the chair by unanimous vote of the executive board.
His term will run through the 2017 INA Convention.
Harvey is the first INA president to serve on Mid-America’s behalf since company founder Willard Archie.
“I’m honored to be selected by my peers to serve in this capacity,” Harvey said. “I believe it is important to represent the company at the state level. It's great exposure for the company and shows the importance of our organization within the association.”
“I look forward to using this year to champion our industry, promote the company, and to look for ways to help our industry grow and improve,” Harvey added.
Harvey has served on the INA Board since 2009 and on various committees for many years.
